Shoe Poetry for the Ultimate Shoe Lover

There is a feeling that creeps into my being when I feel spring is truly here. It starts with my hair and ends in my toes.

Something about Spring Time makes me want to adjust my lifestyle, change my routine and get a fresh new look.

1. Hair Cut: CHECK
2. Spring Dress: CHECK

This leads me to the third and most important accessory I add to my new spring do:

NEW SHOES!

For those that LOVE shoes, you understand how this is possibly the most important spring wardrobe addition.

This is the hunt, the excitement, the red carpet feeling that welcomes spring into our lives.

This Blog review is for the shoe lover who reads this and understands, the shoe lover who looks into her shoe wardrobe and whimsically smiles at her prize, this is for the shoe lover in all of us!

The poetry of Edward Monkton was MADE FOR YOU!!

Shoes, Chocs, Bags, Frocks penned by Edward Monkton. This is a fun and fluffy literary indulgence for anyone passionate about shoes, bags, or chocolate. The obsessions in which many of us indulge with more than a twinge of self-conscious, guilt-wrapped pleasure.

Contained inside it’s pages are quirky poetic gems that, happily, do not take themselves too seriously. With such titles as “The Beautiful Frock”, “My Chocolate Kingdom”, and “The Killer Heels”, this is poetry made to make women smile.

After finding this GEM, I found myself wanting more. A little visit to Edward Monkton's website will yield note cards for sale (such as "My Killer Heels" that is shown above) as well as limited-edition prints of "The Shoe of Salvation" (shown below).

This is a hand-pulled, 195-copy, silk-screened print that is float-mounted in a transparent box - perfect for any shoe-diva’s decorative splurge.

Skinny Jeans Tucked into Gladiators? Yay or Nay?

Lately, I've seen quite a few of those "young Hipsters" sporting this cute style option. It is pretty fashion forward and a trend mark to be sure, but is it for everyone?

People Magazine did a poll lately, so I thought I would do a poll of my own. I personally think that is can be pulled off by very few. Vanessa Hudgins does a great job, pairing it with both skinny metallic leggings and jeans.

It should be left up to preference, but out of curiosity--would you attempt this fashionista style?

YAY OR NAY??

TREND ALERT

Trend Alert #1 Gladiator Sandels

Just like summer of 2008, Gladiator sandals are still going strong as the "it" women's shoe. These sandals are a great trend because they have such great versatility. They have a bit of a masculine edge to them, but when paired with dresses, skirts or skinny jeans they look very feminine.

Trend Alert #3 Chunkier Heels

Along with the trend of sky-high heels comes the chunkier heel. Thicker heeled shoes have taken a backseat in recent seasons to its skinnier cousin, the stiletto, but this spring and summer of 2009 bring back the chunkier heels giving them a new, funky look. By adding a thicker heel to your favorite shoes you are giving yourself more stability and comfort overall. Try some of the season best look with a thicker or funky shaped heel. Who knew a simple change of heel would wow crowds like this trend?
